Marisa Lyons Memorial Scholarship

The Marisa Lyons Memorial Scholarship annually honors one college-bound Tumwater High School graduating senior who meets the criteria established by Marisa’s parents after Marisa’s untimely death while attending the University of Washington.  Marisa was a dedicated and talented athlete, a leader on her team.  She also displayed true Tumwater sportsmanship – she would help any and all who wished to improve their skills.  She was a 1997 graduate of Tumwater High School who went on to play sports at the University of Washington.

CRITERIA

  • Applicant must be a senior female athlete of the Tumwater School District.
  • Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
  • Applicant must demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, athletic talent, and be a team player.
  • Applicant must demonstrate excellence through hard work, determination, strong will, and self motivation.
  • This scholarship is not limited with respect to any one particular sport.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Applicants must complete a Tumwater Education Foundation Scholarship application.
