Thurston County Fire Service Scholarship
Tumwater Education Foundation

It is our intent to award a scholarship annually to a student from the Tumwater School District who shows the most desire and ability to pursue a career in fire service or emergency medical service. The recipient must be planning to attend a college level fire service or emergency medical training program in the United States.

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Recipient must be a graduating senior from Tumwater School District.
• Recipient must have a 2.5 GPA.
• Preference may be given to candidates who have completed the NMVSC Fire Cadet program.
• Recipient must demonstrate leadership, honesty, determination, strong will and self-motivation.
• Recipient must submit supplemental application as well as a senior portfolio.
• Preference may be given to cadets who attend Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or 1^{st Responders courses.}
• Preference may be given to those who volunteer for any emergency service agency.
• Preference WILL be given for a son or daughter, grandson or daughter of a fire fighter who has fallen in the line of duty.

• ^{On a separate sheet of paper, in less than 200 words, describe how you demonstrate leadership, honesty, determination, strong will and self-motivation.}
